We headed down to Phoenix to run the AZ1000. 103 degrees today and a half case of water consumed.

Keep us up to date on your adventures down there. I am sure it will be exciting.

Yep, the broad resources of the Internet gave evidence that the car model we’d have was an easy-peasy VSS connection. We’d used a VSS connection on an FJ40 at NOBM, and it worked as advertised…

So when I started on this car, I did the “hard” parts first (power, ground, mount) and saved the easy VSS for last. THen I popped off the plastic cover where the wire would be waiting — nothing looked like the pictures/descriptions online. I did a little gentle exploratory wire poking, but nada.

Thank goodness Revere was there with a hub-mount, and I’d carried a std. metal barrel sensor “just in case”. The thrash still burned all of the afternoon, and I was running power for the 2m radio after dinner, at 11 p.m. Sheesh.
