First Tale Meets The First Critic

We arrived in Portland on a beautiful Spring-like day. Pulled the car to a stop, finally, in front of the house, and slowly uncoiled ourselves from those form-fitting seats. I’m not afraid to admit that she and I are from different generations, and I confess I missed the cultural wave that brought new meaning to “random”, so I’m not exactly sure what she meant. But it troubled me a bit because I caught a hint of the pejorative in the word.

Random, nice. If i wasn’t currently so completely satisfied by the services provided by my current rally team i would run right out and form the Random Rally Adventure Team. Good to hear your safely home. steve

Here’s a vote to see “random” fade away as a substitute for “I don’t know what to say about that” — I think it’s losing steam as a catchphrase. I’ve banished its misuse at my house, for whatever that’s worth…

  3. Jim Baby Says:

Have you banished it on all days or just some days? If just banished on *some* days, how were those days selected?

  4. Dan Comden Says:

Well Jim Baby, we roll the dice to decide, that’s how.
