Rally of the Sick Patrol
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008If you havn’t heard about sick people on the 2008 Alcan maybe you were reading about some other alcan rally (perhaps you’re reading our 2004 blog). My last four days of this Alcan were experienced thru a coughing flu-ie haze. I still had a great time, I just whined more than usual. No one will admit to being the carrier who brought the disease on our little road trip. My suspicion is that it was a potent cocktail of cold and influenza strains from around the country. People who had already been sick this winter were not totally immune, although they did get away a lot easier than those of us who had kept our hankies clean this year. Ace navigator and member of the winning team, Russ Kraushaar got sick and had to miss the trip north to the edge of the continent. On the plus side, this is definitely the first Alcan Rally where i’ve lost weight. One thing’s for sure …
cold?
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008As everyday life starts to seep in the forefront, it’s hard not to try to relive parts of the trip. We really lucked out with the weather.
Alcan Diet
Tuesday, July 29th, 2008We’d heard before the trip that you couldn’t get anything green to eat north of Hope. we stepped on the scale and found that we’d each lost about 4 pounds on the trip.
HQ Video Versions
Monday, July 28th, 2008I just learned about the little-known (to me, anyhow) feature of viewing Youtube videos in original high quality mode, which is better than what you usually see before the Youtube elves massage the originals for regular viewing.
Oh, and the kids will want Buzz in HQ.
