Tonight finds us in Dawson Creek (not Dawson’s Creek) BC on the edge of Alberta.
Day 8 maps can be found here. Day 8 started in Whitehorse and headed out to Long Lake 1 and 2 once again. When running the same TSDs for the second time (and especially the same TSDs that are essentially the same roads, . If you want a good sense of just how far we have traveled,
At the Whitehorse ice slalom today I had my first oops. I had a great first run, very fast but hit the snowbank in sight of the finish. Luckily the car didn’t get stuck but spun around and came to a stop backward but had crossed the finish line and was timed in. Whitehorse hasn’t been good to us this year. Not on the TSD or the ice slalom but we’ll see if things improve down the road.
Hans got some pictures of me stuck and I’m sure he’ll proudly post those soon. I also suspect that the TeamD magnetic "Student Driver" will soon be placed on my car.
We finished up the Long Lake TSD (2nd run) this morning and headed back out to Schwatka Lake for the second round of the ice race. Tonight we’re headed up to Liard Hot Springs.
Dad Comden asked about the Saab’s encounter with a snowbank on the Tuk ice road. to see what we’ve done so far and keep up with any new goodies.
