(again, written back in Seattle) a rally day like none other(thank God!)
Besides having the lovely accompaniment of Kim and Diana, i can't say much else nice about this day. We did a TSD wherein anything that hadn't been fucked-up on a TSD previously during the Alcan got fucked-up, plus some that already had. Between the confusion of altered rally instructions before and during the leg and what I can only say was a computer (or sensor or computer wiring) glitch we had a true Hell TSD. We didn't take full points for the leg but did end-up fully confused. Then we went out to Long Lake and did a Slalom Thing. This is definitely the most-voluminously photographically documented event of the whole rally. What the photo collection lacks in quality is more then doubly made up for in quantity. I should say for the record that i was cranky and moody and bored out at the lake. We really did hav a great time and a very successful rally, I was just temporarily ignoring those facts. Oddly, after a cat-nap in the back seat on the way back to Anchorage I awoke in good enough cheer. We did a cheesy finish line thing, that really was a nice photo-op. Then headed to the Regal Alaskan for a shower, another nap, and the awards banquet. |
