Day 9 - Alcan Winter Rally 2004 ItineraryPrevious Day | Back To Alcan Info | Next Day Day 9, February 26, 350 miles Today we'll probably have a TSD section in the morning as we depart Fairbanks. We'll drive the Parks Highway straight south, past the majestic mountains of Denali National Park to Anchorage. Outside of Anchorage we head to Big Lake in Wasilla for our final two ice racing events. Big Lake has both a small oval track usually used for racing motorcycles or quad-runners and a long road-course used for snow machines. We'll use both courses simultaneously to give us two ice racing challenges. Experiencing two very different courses on the same day will be a challenge. The day finishes with the final few miles to Anchorage and the finish at Continental Subaru. They'll host an official finish line ceremony and have a heated tent where will will relax. After that it's off to the Millennium Alaskan Hotel Anchorage to get cleaned and dressed up for the awards ceremony and banquet sponsored by Subaru. At this point we'll be celebrating the fact that we made it all the way and hopefully looking lovingly at the trophy that we've won!
